Pre-School

3 classes for kids 2 1/2 to School Age:

The YMCA of Corry Preschool curriculum focuses on  Social interaction, Physical Development, Kindergarten Readiness and Character Development. We offer 2, 3, 5 day a week programming designed for different developmental levels. All classes participate in swimming lessons and gym classes.

The YMCA of Corry has demonstrated a commitment to providing a high quality program for young children and their families. While the Keystone STARS designation process examines the total program, the greatest emphasis is placed on the quality of interactions among staff and children and the developmental appropriateness of the curriculum-- what really happens to the children. Health and safety, staffing, staff qualifications, physical environment, and administration  are all reviewed during designation, but primary consideration is given to the nature of the child's experience.

The YKids' Club curriculum is designed around these core services: Arts & Humanities, Character Development, Health, Wellness & Fitness through Highmark SPARK and swimming, Homework Support, Literacy, Science & Technology, Service Learning & Social Competence, Conflict Resolution.

Our YKids' Club learn the importance of performing community service projects, and staff incorporate character development into the daily lesson plans by emphasizing the four core YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility into all  our Y-Club activities. YMCA YKids' Club activities all work together to help children grow physically, mentally, and spiritually.

The YMCA of Corry YKids' Club program is a wonderful place for children to spend their out of school time.

*Fun Days are located at the YMCA 6:00am to 6:00pm.

The YMCA of Corry has made a commitment to the community by offering Year-Round Child Care.

Throughout the school year there are many occasions for schools to close--holidays, snow days, and school breaks.

At the YMCA we realize the importance of child care during these times. That is why the YMCA offers a program called Fun Days. Fun Days are held at YMCA when schools are not operating. Fun Days are activity-filled days at the YMCA that include art projects, games, swimming, gym time and scheduled field trips.

Before School Care and Snow Delay Care:

The YMCA offers before school care beginning at 6:00 AM

The charge for before school care is the daycare rate of $3.90/hour for members and $4.50/hour for non-members. This price includes breakfast.

Children are picked up in front of the YMCA at 7:20 AM. Children will be escorted to the pick-up site by YMCA staff. The bus stops at the high school where the children will transfer busses then proceed to the school.

On days the school district has a snow delay, a bus will pick up children at the specified time and location. Again, all children will be taken to the high school and switch busses. They will then be taken to their respective school.
